2.12) Summary

At this point you should have a basic understanding of:

• Basic computer cluster architecture
• The role of login nodes, compute nodes and storage
• The difference between nodes, processors and cores
• Basic use of SSH to access remote systems
• How to transfer files to/from remote systems

Please note that the login nodes are a shared resource between all users. As such they are not to be used for long running or intensive jobs. Please play nice!
