2.3) ARC2 Hardware: Schematic

Figure 3 shows a schematic of one of the HPC facilities at the University of Leeds. It consists of:

• Two user facing login nodes
• Head nodes which provide core services, such as the batch scheduler
• A high speed parallel file-system, mounted on /nobackup
• High speed network connecting all component parts
• 190 compute nodes mounted in three racks
