Experience

This course assumes that you are familiar with a Unix/Linux environment and that you have some programming experience in another programming language such as Fortran. If you don't have any experience in using these, it wold be worthwhile completing the Unix and Fortran courses, these courses will provide some extra background material that will help making the IDL course easier to complete.
