3.2) Comparison Of Simulation Techniques

Gillbert & Troitzsch (2005) compare different modelling techniques used regarding their levels of analysis, potential communication between agents, and complexity and number of agents. This might help with selecting the appropriate modelling technique when analysing the problem entity. For example, systems with many rather complex, and interacting agents might be better addressed with a multi-agent model, while system dynamics is better suited for problems where there is no communication among agents and where the system can be represented through one systemic entity.
