4.1) NetLogo Dictionary

The key of successfully learning and professionally using NetLogo is the NetLogo Dictionary. It is set up as a webpage (http://ccl.northwestern.edu/netlogo/docs/dictionary.html) and can be accessed through the URL, within Netlogo (Help/NetLogo Dictionary), or through right click on a command and click “Quick Help”, which will open the related part of the dictionary.

We highly recommend a frequent use of the dictionary, especially because the NetLogo language sometime is so close to English that you think you know what the method does. This is often the cause of the “more difficult to spot” errors in agent- based models. Consulting the dictionary (and maybe the programming guide) frequently will increase your general knowledge of available commands and open a new range of modelling possibilities.
