6.1) "man" Pages

Before we go further, I want to mention about a great resource for understanding the command. Unix and Linux usually always have what are called manual pages. The easiest way to begin with this is to look at the manual for the ls command. Type:

man ls 

This results in a page appearing that looks like the figure on the following page. To see more of the pages hit spacebar. When you are finished looking you can type ‘q’ at any time to quit the pages (it operates like the more command).
