5.2) Limits To Growth
The most famous example of the application of system dynamics modelling is the 1972 Limits to Growth report published by the Club of Rome, a group of businessmen, statesmen and scientists.
The report applied a complex systems dynamics model (the World 3 model) to analyse the combined systemic effect of explosive population growth and industrial development.
The report warned of the increasing impacts of growth on limited resources, and the inevitability of a collapse resulting from exceeding the earth's carrying capacity.
