6.2) Numerical Integration

Vensim makes it largely unnecessary for us to worry about the details of Numerical Integration, but there are some important considerations that we must be aware of.

The simulation capacity of Vensim is based on Numerical Integration. Numerical integration is a procedure for simulating the evolution of a system described by a systems dynamics model that incrementally calculates the value of our variables from their previous values, as illustrated below:
